Question Question on selling GW Guides

heys ppl

i have a question..

I have written some Guild Wars strategy guides (how to solofarm uw, how to get your rank as fast as possible), but before i launch my website and start advertiseing, i have to know if i'm allowed to sell guides like this anyway.
there are no bots/cheats or whatever in it, just stepwise discriptions and tips, movies and screenshots..

oh and before you all post 'no1 will buy em anyway'
they do.. i sell WoW guides (no i dnt play that crappy game lol) + one of my own GW guides on ebay already and i get pretty nice results. i know i may sell WoW guides, but i never asked if i may sell GW guides aswell...

am i allowed to sell unofficial strategyguides?

thx,

Toiletmonster
(btw i suppose i may not post my website url in the forum?)

Edit:
Okay thx guys,
i'll buy some ads here on guru + on wiki, so feel free to check out my site when you see the ads =)

so what makes your guides better than the FREE ones you can find on here, on the wiki, etc?

However, the answer is no as its breaking the EULA to sell any intellectual property owned by either ANet or NCSoft

Just because you write something about GuildWars does not make it property of ArenaNet.
He can sell information on how to do stuff in GW but it has to be his own words (& discoveries), that means no copying/plagiarizing wiki or other authors.

Edit: Posting links to where you sell stuff counts as advertising, buy ads if you want to advertise.

If he came up with the guide, how is it anets intellectual property? Granted, it's about the game, but if he researched and wrote it, then it's his intellectual property.

First the OP is not selling the property of NC-Soft and A-Net at all. He is seling a guide that he himself wrote to assist other players. If it was against the EULA to sell a guide then how come Prima does it all the time. You should have no problem selling your guides on E-Bay or through your own website, just advertisement might be a bit costly.
In short YES YOU CAN SELL A GUIDE WRITTEN BY YOU WITHOUT GETTING INTO TROUBLE.

This is not the place to ask a question like this. Unless a forum member happens to be well-versed in copyright law, you are only getting personal opinions.

Writing guides for the forums or wiki that are free to all is allowed by ArenaNet. Making money off a guide is most likely a different proposition. Prima makes a legal contract with game companies in order to publish guides.

What abous guides in pc magazines?

You have to pay for magazine so it's selling, but I really doubt that every pc magazine has signed contract with game developers to do so. So imo you can sell whatever it's yours, and if guide is yours - sell it.

I'm sorry, but any decent player already knows www.guildwiki.org .

But bad players won't I guess...that would be your market then...

Theres always been loads of gw guide sellers on ebay with linked websites, suggest you check them out and the disclaimers they use. Aslong as its your own work you should be ok but there is alot of competition out there. Alot purchase guides and then resell them on so some protection on your work should be considered, .pdf's work well. Make yourself standout from the rest by advertising the guide update dates as alot tend to be out of date with nerfed crap and not worth the paper they're written on.
Copyright will allow you to copy x% of someone else's work but not sure exactly how much that is offhand, its hard to rewrite already existing guides in a totally different way when they are already well written. Its unlikely that you have very much to offer that isn't already available for free on the main gw websites and forums, your just saving people the effort of a little research.
